Senior Windows Systems Engineer

You will lead the Windows Systems team that covers all virtual and physical infrastructure running on a windows Workstation and Server operating systems including Citrix and Hypervisors.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

-You understand the business needs in order to translate them into mid/long term (2-5 years) technology strategy within your domain. You will consistently act as an ambassador of the departmental technology strategy.
-You provide technical leadership and consult in your domain, ranging from strategic decision making down to project planning and overseeing of projects, in cooperation with the CoE Infrastructure Architect.
-You are responsible for the daily follow-up of your domain, which includes: define, lead and communicate roles for all members of your team, be part of the 3rd-line and out-of-office-hours support, perform risk assessments and manage risks, follow-up budget, define standards and best practices for client devices, assure the continuity on people and systems point of view, develop and execute test and DR plans, act as owner of the windows platform services monitoring software,
-You coordinate external vendors and suppliers/outsourced service providers.
-You initiate/cooperate/participate in vendor contract negotiations and maintain and empower these relationships.
-You lead and participate in projects related to Windows Platform Services.

YOUR PROFILE

-You speak Dutch or French fluently along with good English
-You have 5-7 years' experience with developing strategic technology plans, business requirements gathering/analysis, IT service provisioning and also in the design and implementation of infrastructure environments.
-You have a proven experience in the domain of Windows Platforms design and development and in Project planning and management.
-Experience in managing remote and virtual teams and in an international decentralized or Matrix organization is an asset.
-You have strong presentation skills, strong written and oral communication skills combined with interpersonal skills.
-You are analytical, conceptual and a real problem solver.
-You have proven leadership skills, a high integrity and no 9-to-5 mentality.
-You have an in-depth technical understanding of: Windows Servers, Citrix, Vmware, Windows 2008, successor OS.
-You have an in-depth knowledge of: System Center product suite, Active Directory and related technologies, HP datacenter hardware.
-You have a good conceptual knowledge and analytical skills across a broad range of IT topics like Routers, Switches, Proxy, Reverse Proxy, Firewall, SAN, NAS.
