Senior Web Developer - 6 Month Contract - Brisbane CBD

As the analyst/programmer you will be required to take an existing proof-of-concept web application and re-develop it using contemporary patterns and practices to deliver a new enterprise-quality application.

The existing solution uses complex mathematics that is specific to this particular industry. Although the candidate will be assisted by business Subject Matter Experts, they should be comfortable working with complex algorithms and formulae that may be outside their area of expertise.

Using a wide range of skills, you will be working within a Microsoft .NET environment, coupled with an Oracle database.

Technical requirements of the role include:

- Solution architecture and design using contemporary patterns and practices, and using contemporary technology stacks;
- Experience of documenting and communicating system designs using current diagramming tools and notations;
- Proven experience re-developing the solutions from a proof-of-concept to become production-quality, enterprise applications;
- User-interface development to enhance the existing UI to meet the users' requirements and to meet with contemporary web design standards;
- Deep Microsoft .NET development and deployment skills across all application tiers;
- Proven web application engineering and development skills, to implement appropriate presentation/application/business/database logic separation, in addition to enabling scalability and supportability;
- Estimating development time and costs;
- Developing unit and system test scripts;
- Carrying out unit testing and participating in system testing; experience supporting User Acceptance Testing;

Your experience will include:

- Proven experience of development of applications using contemporary patterns, practices and technologies to implement scalable, enterprise-quality solutions
- Deep understanding of Microsoft .NET technologies in all application tiers
- Deep understanding of Oracle database development, including PL/SQL stored procedures
- Ability to produce architectural designs using current diagramming tools and notations
- Experience of developing systems utilising complex mathematical algorithms
- Experience documenting system design and implementation
