Senior Virtualisation Specialist

ABOUT THE COMPANY/POSITION:

Working in large and highly specialised Virtualisation team, we are seeking a Senior Engineer to help manage multiple enterprise level VMware Server Farm builds across various Data Centres. Working with other technology teams, you will support the VMware systems on a number of different platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Working as a technical lead during deployment and on-going management of multiple enterprise level VMware Server Farm builds across Data Centres
- Work with problem and change tools
- conducting multiple server consolidation assessment and implementing physical to virtual migration solution based on VMware
- Disaster Recovery of VMware hosted server farms
- Must provide after hours support on a rostered basis

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Demonstrated support of VMware in a development and production environment
- Strong background with virtual server concepts such as VMware and Xen
- Strong understanding of open source products
- Confident with most aspects of operating system administration, hardware, configuration, system installation and configuration
- Vmware Certification/accreditation - VCP
- Must be a self starter who can work with minimum supervision.
