Senior Treasury Accountant

My client, a leading independent Oil & Gas company based in London requires an interim Treasury Accountant to manage all accounting and lead the Corporate Treasury's Back Office function ensuring all activities are carried out accurately while maintaining controls.

Reporting into the Group Treasurer, your key responsibilities will include:

Manage all aspects of the Group's hedge accounting process (interest rate, FX and commodity) including review of initial hedge set-up through to effectiveness testing and ultimate reporting to management of the overall position

Provide technical accounting advice on all matters relating to treasury and hedge accounting, including analysis of the impact of new initiatives

Liaise with auditors and internal customers on matters relating to treasury and hedge accounting

Keep up to date with upcoming changes to accounting standards and regulations (in particular IFRS 9) and ensure the organisation is well prepared

Manage the Group's central bank office function

Supervise compliance with various derivative reporting requirements including EMIR

Oversee operation of the organisation's Back Office systems (including online banking platforms, bank account management software and elements of the TMS)

Calculate and report on compliance with various debt covenants

Report to management on all Treasury activity including debt levels, cash, derivatives, FX, bank account activity etc

The successful candidate will ideally hold an AMCT qualification along with an ACA/CA. Previous experience in a Corporate Treasury environment is imperative as well as extensive practical experience of applying IFRS. You must have a good understanding of implementing and managing an appropriate control environment and be proficient in the use of systems. You will have the ability to work and interact with different levels of the organisation and naturally have great interpersonal skills with the capacity to lead and motivate direct reports.
