Senior Transport IP Network Design Engineer

for one of our clients in the hague we are currently looking for a Senior Transport IP network design engineer.

this is for the duration of 3 months plus extensions.

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

The Transport (IP) Network Design Engineer is responsible for all low level detailed design of the IP network

IP network (eg IP Core, IP based mobile backhaul, IP interconnects, etc)

L2 network, where available (datacenters, etc)

The Transport (IP) Network Design Engineer will translate the transport network high level designs as defined by the Solution department into ready to implement low level designs, in line with the design principles of the existing network. He/she will also work with the team of network designers with the view to enhance the existing principles, update and enhance them with new available options as they become available and provide non service affecting migration procedures for implementing them.

The Senior Transport (IP) Network Design engineer role:

Oversees the day-to-day activities of work for the team and acts as the main contact person for the Access & Transport design team, with focus on taking in requests and tasks (eg projects, analysis) from the manager or organization and allocating these among the (internal and external) team members.

The senior role accepts the ownership and coordination of timely delivery, next to the expected engineering tasks associated with the Transport Network design Engineer role in general

Possess an in-depth knowledge/skill and is also able to apply this knowledge/skill to solve complex problems and issues

Acts as a facilitator and mentor and is able to move the team forward

Builds an environment that supports co-operation among the work team and with other areas within the organization

Provide low level designs, including the planned services for the IP transport network (including Mobile backhaul IP network, IP core network, IP interconnections, layer-2 datacenters network)

Provide "in time" Data builds (ie Planned configurations) for the different IP Transport network solutions (including Mobile backhaul IP network, IP core network, IP interconnections, layer-2 datacenters network)

Configuration management of the whole IP Transport network infrastructure end to end.

Design efficient and cost effective dimensioned IP network infrastructure

Give the 3rd line support of problems in the transport (IP) network end to end.

Support Network Architecture and Solution teams within Network infrastructure department in various IP core network projects

Create Request For Changes based on Change Requests and designs for the IP core network.
