Senior Test Inspector

NSF-WRc is the U.K.'s largest testing laboratory for water fittings and materials carrying out testing against UK and other standards which provide evidence for approval and certification. Based in South Wales, the laboratory provides testing services for clients worldwide. The laboratory undertakes mechanical testing on a wide variety of pipe and fittings used to convey drinking water from source to tap.We are currently looking for looking for a Senior Test Inspector on a 12 month contract to join our busy mechanical testing team.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:

• Using standards and other criteria to develop test protocols and procedures.
• Carrying out testing using procedures written by yourself or others on a wide variety of mechanical products, including scheduling your own and others work.
• Evaluating and reviewing the results of tests and identifying improvement that can be made to test criteria and procedures.
• Assisting the laboratory manager to identify and improve the throughput of testing work in laboratory.
• Communicating with customers when needed and explaining the operation and outcome of test performed.
The ideal candidate would:
• Have evidence of a strong engineering or physical sciences background demonstrated by a degree or ample experience in either of these disciplines.
• Be dexterous and able to carry out complex manual tasks.
• Very good mathematics, written English and communication skills.
• Proof of strong organisational skills, accuracy and an eye for detail.
• Be able to work in a team, especially when deadlines loom.
• Have some knowledge of quality systems, preferably in a laboratory environment.
• Have experience of process improvement, such as lean.
