Senior Technical Support Consultant - SQL Server

Our client, the global leader in desktop computing, is seeking a Senior SQL Server Technical Support Consultant. The job is based in Reading but will require 4-5 days per week on client site.

Candidates for this position should possess deep technical expertise in at least one technical specialty and can solve complex technical problems through sound, creative troubleshooting. PFE's are technical subject matter experts who set an example of excellence as a Microsoft representative, enhancing the company's image and reputation through your credibility, preparation, commitment and first-class delivery.

Demonstrate strong communication skills; ability to develop strategic on going customer relationships, gain trust and respect for the company. Consultants must also possess strong technical writing, presentation and training skills, enjoy team work, and actively contribute to their peer group as well as our customer account teams. You will be expected to communicate at all levels from CIO to the technical staff on the ground.

Experience Required:
Demonstrable experience and deep understanding relational databases and data warehousing
Demonstrable success in consultative/complex technical projects, (where necessary managing stakeholders to get consensus on solutions)
Demonstrable experience designing, developing, implementing, operating, upgrading, consolidating and performance tuning enterprise SQL Server Databases.
Scalability features and supporting architectures
Proven track record of building strong relationships with senior technical and business decision makers
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences
Highly Valued: Experience in SQL DB migrations to public cloud
Highly valued: experience of cloud or on premise BI analytics
Highly valued: Knowledge of big data use-cases and Hadoop-based design patterns
