Senior Technical Analyst/Developer

Contract Term

This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18th, 2013.

This is a 12 month initial contract with the potential to extend an additional 12 months. Overview

Our Client is seeking a Senior Technical Analyst/Developer to work with browser-based land management software that automates workflow.

This consultant will be the assigned as the primary technical resource on Datawarehouse projects involving this Computronix land management software. This will include areas of: - Design, development, testing, implementation, and support of new workflows using PL/SQL and/or the Software Configuration Tool
- Design, development, testing, implementation, and support of integration and/or reporting components
- Documentation (business requirements, technical design documents, support model documents, etc.)
- Knowledge transfer (information sharing with team members and clients).

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Application Support Supervisor, the contract resources will be required to develop and support new or existing workflows using PL/SQL and Software Configuration Tools.

Primary duties will include:

- Technical leadership for system enhancements and maintenance requests;
- Analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support of new workflows;
- Design and development of complex customizations, interfaces, and reports;
- Working with business experts, application users, and IT service providers to investigate and resolve application issues.

The selected consultants will be assigned as the primary technical resources for enhancements and maintenance requests, and will be responsible for:

- Participating in business process re-design, requirements gathering, and/or technical design sessions with key project stakeholders
- Identifying and communicating potential concerns related to technical design and recommending system approaches or solutions to meet business requirements
- Solving problems and developing creative solutions
- Programming new workflows, integrations and/or reports
- Completing Quality Assurance checks for application changes, testing application changes, and working with clients to achieve sign-off for user acceptance testing
- Writing technical documentation based on standard processes and templates for our Client's Application Development Methodology and Application Support Methodology
- Investigating and resolving application errors and/or issues reported by application users
- Sharing knowledge/expertise with team members
- Providing regular status updates to the team, team leader, project manager, and/or supervisor.

Qualifications
Required Skills

- Proven experience with Oracle 10g (or newer) and PL/SQL (5+ years)
- Proven experience with design, development, and delivery of application solutions
- Experience developing and supporting system integration and system reporting functionality
- Strong communication skills (listening, written communication, and verbal communication)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently.

Desired Skills:

- Experience with Tibco Integration
- Experience with Business Objects and Informatica (Datawarehouse)
- Experience with Sybase InfoMaker
- Experience with Linux/UNIX
- Previous work experience with Government Organizations, or equivalent endeavours.
