Senior Systems/Virtualization Engineer Job

SR. SYSTEMS/VIRTUALIZATION ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Needham, MA.

TOP SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS:

- Five to eight (5-8) years of directly related experience in Enterprise Systems configuration management, analysis, design, and operation.
- Architectural/design level certifications in enterprise services vendors desired. Vendors of interest include EMC, NetApp, IBM, Dell, HP, etc.
- Design/operational level knowledge with server platforms on Unix, Linux, VMWare, or Microsoft Operating Systems required.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for the design, development, testing, documenting, and implementing of datacenter physical and virtual server infrastructures and storage infrastructures.
- Analyze, document, and present all architectural, design, security, and operational requirements applicable to develop possible solution sets
- Analyze, document, and presents performance/capacity of existing or planned architecture and projected impact over time
- Conduct, document, and present system evaluation to validate vendor/manufacture solutions meet all system requirements
- Develop, document, and presents one or more engineering solutions to include technical analysis, list of materials, and operational/sustainment impacts
- Develop, document, and presents implementation plan with device configurations and all required technical drawings for the chosen solution
- Plan, communicate, execute, and communicate conclusion of an implementation plan
- Communicate, troubleshoot, and resolve all 3rd level operational issues
- Direct, collaborate, and integrate 3rd party systems and technical staff to develop complete design and implementation
- Collaborate and participate in enhancing organizational knowledge management environment
- Maintain and grow technical skill/product knowledge in cyber configuration management field
- Obtain/maintain certification in standards and key vendors
- Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Must be able to submit examples of previous IT engineering level documentation solely written by candidate for review. If no examples can be provided, candidate must submit a professional written document reviewing work experiences that demonstrate each of the responsibilities of the position. The quality and attention to detail of the provided documentation will be used in evaluation of candidates.
- Five to eight (5-8) years of directly related experience in Enterprise Systems configuration management, analysis, design, and operation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical/engineering discipline. Combination of equivalent education, technical certifications, or work experience will be considered.
- Architectural/design level certifications in enterprise services vendors desired. Vendors of interest include EMC, NetApp, IBM, Dell, HP, etc.
- Design/operational level knowledge with server platforms on Unix, Linux, VMWare, or Microsoft Operating Systems required.
- Design/operational knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP/iSCSI, fiber channel, SONET, etc.) and equipment (Brocade, Cisco, etc.) and storage technologies (SANs, NAS, JBODs).
