Senior Systems Officer Security

My client is currently seeking a Senior Systems Officer - Security to join their team for an initial 6 month contract with view to extend.

The ideal candidate will assist with the design and operational aspects of Information Communications and Technology (ICT) security for the organisation.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

- Provide recommendations and advice on risk mitigation, design and implementation and operations of ICT infrastructure to support information security objectives.
- Facilitate co-ordination for all service and infrastructure security monitoring and reporting requirements, requests, enquiries and activities.
- Consult with managers across the portfolio and provide expert advice to its customers on issues relating to network, systems and data security and architectures.
- Tertiary qualifications, or relevant technical certifications, and a current NSW driver's license.
- General knowledge & Experience of some of the following information technology categories including medium to large WAN and LAN services, data and network security devices (Firewalls, intrusion detection), threat management (virus/spyware/malware protection), associated layered network services. This includes application layer security knowledge and principles.
- Knowledge of evaluation methods and techniques sufficient to assess and measure security effectiveness and the ability to evaluate the implications of new security developments and concepts.
- Excellent communication skills written & verbal
