Senior Systems Engineer - w/Virtualization

We're looking for candidates with advanced certifications, including MCSE, VMware and/or Citrix certifications, to work on System Projects in a fantastic, very large, very complex systems environment.

Position is in Anchorage - relocation available for the right candidate!

This candidate will strategically design and implement in-house, high availability information system solutions that support core organizational functions and goals. S/He will also provide technical leadership for project planning, new technology development and senior level decision making.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to maintenance and development teams.
- Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end solutions that integrate Servers, network and applications seamlessly.
- Research and deploy new IT system applications and hardware platforms to capitalize on new technology to aid in improved service delivery and efficiency to lines of business.
- Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Meet with decision makers and systems owners to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
- Collaborate with technical staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Integrate Servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup Servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
- Provide training to staff to facilitate acceptance and confident inclusion of new technology into the environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 10 years progressive experience in Information Technology with at least 3 years in a senior technical role such as Senior Technical Analyst, System Architect or other related senior capacity
- Required Certifications: MCSA, MCSE, VMware (VTSP, VCP3, VCP4, VCAP-DA)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
- Demonstrated proficiency in the planning and installation of operating system software across a variety of platforms
- Demonstrated project management skills required
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and excellent written/oral communication skills
- Strong experience with Data Center Server Virtualization (VMware), Storage Area Networks, Active Directory, enterprise system backup and restoration, Mainframe operating systems, multi-protocols (TCP/IP, SNA, IPX, X25, and Decnet), Microsoft languages, databases and tools
- Experience in the following a plus: CISCO, CITRIX, SQL Server, UNIX and Client Server networking
- Credit union or banking experience desirable
