Senior Systems Engineer (Persistence) Job

SENIOR SYSTEMS ARCHITECT (PERSISTENCE) needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in PALO ALTO, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Object store, building efficient in-memory store, mapping persistency layers
- Memory management, container and virtualization technologies

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Design, implementation supervision, and support of next gen hardware and software infrastructure for HANA cloud computing initiatives both within SAP and with partners
- Serve as a primary architect for the HANA systems engineering team in enterprise cloud.
- Drive the evaluation and adoption of emerging memory technologies in support of HANA cloud computing initiatives as it relates to persistence, durability aspects of database and engineering them at the system level to deliver lowest cost and highest performance.
- The Candidate will work closely with the HANA and other database products within SAP to enable these new capabilities in our cloud infrastructure.
- Engage with HANA development team to incorporate next generation/cloud-based technologies into platform/product
- Serve as key technical lead for partner-based projects
- Communicate high-level business impact and technical strategy to Executive Management.
- Coach and mentor technologies to other members of the technical team
- Help drive the investigation and specification of system solutions involving the integration of multiple layers of the SAP stack, including applications, database, system software, and hardware.
- Work closely with systems engineers to realize solution vision through engineering definition and "hands on" engineering and development activities

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- World-class innovator, deep understanding, and hands-on comfort with hardware systems, database and large scale distributed systems.
- Candidate will have responsibility of co-design of persistency layer with HANA core development.
- Doing performance analyses of transactional layer related to persistence, co-design and co-architect new persistence models leveraging emerging memory technologies with HANA core development team.
- Developed or deep understanding of object store, building efficient in-memory store, mapping persistency layers to emerging memory hierarchy.
- Candidate should have strong understanding of memory management, container and virtualization technologies.
- Demonstrated capability to triage and multitask effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to interact extensively with customers to assist with implementation/network Architecture or service-related issues.
- Strong executive-level oral and written communication skills and customer orientation
- Technical project management experience
- Ten (10) years of in-depth experience with architecting, planning, designing and executing systems-related projects within enterprise, hosting, and/or cloud-centric data centers
- Five (5) years of project management/management experience in fast paced environment
