SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER AUSTIN, TX CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

Must have skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required. Candidates must also have 5-10 years of experience with Linux Technologies and Linux System Administration. They must also have 5-10 years of experience with BMC Blade Logic, and.nix Scripting languages. Candidates must also have expert knowledge the automation of manual tasks on Linux platform, enterprise level server automation and server management tools, and various software development methodologies

Job Description:
Design and administer platforms and services, run a computer manually. Need to automate and must know how to do it manually. Need to understand the technology needed to automate.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design and implement solutions for automating manual tasks on the Linux platform
- Automation requests will range from anything required for the end-to-end (bare-metal to working service) automation of provisioning services to automation for the care and maintenance of existing systems
- Solutions will be developed through a full Software Development Lifecycle
- Work on solution from requirements gathering through implementation
- Documentation will be required for all implemented solutions

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required
- Experience designing and implementing automation solutions in an enterprise environment
- 10+ years experience required

SKILLS:

- Expert knowledge of the full software development life cycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery (Required)
- Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
- Expert knowledge of computer hardware and software (Required)
- Expert knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, etc. (Required)
- Expert knowledge of Linux Technologies
- Expert knowledge of Linux System Administration
- Expert knowledge in the automation of manual tasks on Linux platform
- Expert knowledge of.nix Scripting languages
- Expert knowledge of BMC Blade Logic
- Expert knowledge enterprise level server automation and server management tools
- Expert knowledge with open source server automation and server management tools
- Expert knowledge of various software development methodologies
- Working knowledge of database and Middleware technologies
- Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
- Expert ability to work independently and manage one's time (Required)
