Senior Systems Application Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SENIOR SYSTEMS APPLICATION ENGINEER to join our client in Cupertino, CA.

Job Overview:
You will work with the Hardware Engineering and Business Systems teams to implement, customize and maintain systems to support Product Data Management/Product Lifecycle Management Systems using PTC Windchill. You will provide secondary support for High Performance Computing tools for Engineering Simulation using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for evaluating, designing and developing internal tools and systems that will support a forward-thinking product development group using PDMLink and design simulation software tools.
- Work with Engineering and Business teams to implement customized PDM solutions.
- Implement and maintain software and services running on Linux using AWS EC2.
- Develop internal software tools and processes for automating job management and data collection.
- Support and maintain HPC compute cluster and simulation job management tools.
- Provide recommendations and implement solutions for scalability and performance improvement.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical BS/MS degree (Computer Science or related field).
- Five plus (5+) years of hands-on professional experience in Unix/Linux Administration and SW (Software) development.
- Experience with Windchill PDMLink, running on Linux server infrastructure.
- Experience with MySQL/Open Source DBs.
- Expertise with Perl or Python and/or other Shell Scripting.
- Software development experience using Java, C/C++, PHP, Groovy, Ruby, Tomcat, and Apache.
- Experience with virtualized server environments.
- Experience with compute cluster/grid systems such as Platform LSF, SGE.
- Ability to leverage and integrate open source solutions in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with Nagios, Cacti, Groundwork or other RRD-based monitoring and reporting tools.
- Excellent judgment, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Familiarity with the software development life cycle, change management.
- The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Systems Administration and application support.
- The candidate will rely on self-motivation, a desire to learn from new challenges, and their strong problem solving and communication skills to work within a highly interactive and experienced team to accomplish goals.
- Candidates must demonstrate an ability to integrate feedback and prove their adaptability to quickly changing contexts and work environments.
