A Sr. Systems Analyst provides systems process analysis and designs that lead to the development of complex business solutions across Mainframe, midrange, client Servers, Internet, and/or PC technologies. Duties include most of the components of systems design and development, or various activities related to architecture and technical infrastructure development and support.

Our client needs a Sr. Systems Analysts to work with IT professionals from various teams across the IT department to provide high quality solutions to support business objectives. S/He may be asked to serve as Project Managers and/or IT Team Supervisors, and need to possess strong leadership qualities and good communication skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Model and reinforce the principles and styles of the client.
- Be accountable, earn trust, promote team behavior, and a positive winning attitude.
- Contribute to the achievement of major corporate objectives.
- Contribute as opportunities arise to the IT strategic plan.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge in several of the following: programming languages, operating systems, and database concepts, project management, large scale application design, technical infrastructure, data communication, user training, and systems documentation.
- Manage vendor relationships and tracking of vendor software enhancements.
- Participate in design and code reviews as well as project status reviews as requested.
- If serving in an application development team, assist your manager and supervisor to manage all facets of the Software Development Life Cycle and assure that the formal development standards in place for your team are followed.
- Identify opportunities for process or system improvements and develop appropriate action plans.
- May participate in project estimates, statement of work, and project budgeting.
- Ongoing mentoring and the professional development of less experienced staff is a key deliverable for this position.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create and manage trusting relationships between line of business and IT through effective communication, encouraging the business units to take advantage of IT to support their needs.
- Understand and be a strong advocate for IT standards and future strategic direction.
- Meet or exceed internal audit, Corporate Governance and business ethics requirements.
- Develop, demonstrate, and maintain a solid level of professional knowledge, skills, and proficiency with current tools and technologies.
- Pursue opportunities to develop a thorough understanding of client business environment and how IT can contribute to the success of the company.
- Be willing to attend conferences and seminars as needed.
- Provide formal presentations as requested.
- Facilitate large group meetings.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

- Typically a Bachelors Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering Management or equivalent work experience in related discipline
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated formal presentation skills a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast moving IT team environment
-years experience in progressively more senior roles in an IT systems development or technical support role preferred
- May be required to travel within the clients service area and to its generation facilities; occasional overnight stays may be required (expected travel would be no more than 10% of work time)
- Valid driver's license required
