Urgent requirement for an experienced systems administrator to join our global business on a contract basis with an immediate January start date.

As a Senior Systems Analyst you will have responsibility for maintaining the systems that allow various divisions within the NCC Group to function and communicate securely, both internally and externally, on a daily basis.

Working as part of the Group IT team, responsibilities will include configuring, upgrading and maintaining the company's server, virtualisation and messaging infrastructure and installing/configuring new systems whilst liaising and planning with other highly skilled infrastructure and network specialists. Specific projects will vary depending on business requirements and focus on policies; procedures; documentation; security and being a team player is key. This will be a fast paced and fluid environment so responsiveness and the ability to manage varying workloads is important. Planned and unplanned out of hours work will be required from time to time and you should live within 30 minutes commute of central Manchester.

In this role you will be a member of a small and dynamic team with opportunities to be exposed to new technologies and methods for ensuring reliable and secure IT operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

- To ensure IT infrastructure services function to Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
- To maintain and monitor physical and virtual server infrastructure and test environments
- Install and test new products and enhancements to existing products in both test and live environments
- Diagnosis and resolution of faults and failures in accordance with published SLA's and in a customer focused manner
- Escalation of appropriate faults, failures and modification requests to the relevant parties, ensuring timely and appropriate responses in accordance
- Be an escalation point for fault resolution for Service Engineers/Service Team staff and provide on-call support as required
- Engage in project planning, implementation and rollout providing expert advice as appropriate
- To maintain up-to-date technical skills to perform the role in a dynamic agile business

SSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

- At least 3 years hands-on 3rd line infrastructure experience working within a fast paced environment
- Solid experience with all aspects of production Microsoft Exchange 2010XenDesktop; XenMobile; NetScalers
- Solid understanding and exposure to SAN solutions, especially NetApp and iSCSI
- Proven Windows 2003/2008 & 2012 Server, VMWare VCenter, Active Directory skill set
- Datacentre server (HP Servers/Dell Blades) hardware build, configuration and support
- Demonstrably comfortable working on own initiative and as part of a project team
- Demonstrable broad ranging troubleshooting
- Excellent documentation skills
- Familiarity and acceptance of ITIL standards and associated change management disciplines
- Confident in applying security hardening to Microsoft and Linux platforms
- Solid networking skills and understanding of network infrastructures and security issues

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- Exposure to Linux use in production environments
- Exposure to Veeam backup solutions
- Exposure to Backup Exec backup solutions
- Exposure to VMware SRM
- Familiarity with high availability and business continuity solution
- Experience implementing Open Source solutions into production environments
