Senior System Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated senior systems engineer to be part of a small team providing leadership, technical expertise and hands on technical support to maintain and enhance a large 24/7 whole-of-government infrastructure environment. This specific role will provide server and application deployment and configuration for the Unique Student Identifier project.

WORK REQUIREMENTS:

- Significant experience with provisioning HP BladeSystem infrastructure in an Enterprise environment.
- Significant experience of Windows 2003/2008 R2 server operating environments.
- Experience in web-based solutions including application deployment, configuration and support.
- Experience in VMWare ESX/vSphere virtualisation technologies.
- Experience in creating and maintaining knowledge base documentation.
- Leadership qualities to improve current policies and procedures.
- Experience in managing application deployment and developing process to support robust, repeatable process.
- Highly developed communication skills.
- Undertake project related tasks as directed.
- Be available to participate in on-call roster to provide 24x7 support, if required.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Application deployment, release and configuration
- HP BladeSystem design and implementation
- Infrastructure design, implementation and administration
- AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, backups, antivirus, patching and builds;
- HP SIM and SCOM tools;
- VMWare ESX/vSphere Virtualisation technologies.
