OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

The Business Applications team ensures that the supply of information management and technology (IM/IT) services matches the demand from the business while balancing the flexibility benefits of local solutions with the efficiency and cost benefits of an enterprise-wide overview of IT application architecture.

THIS IS ACHIEVED BY:

(i) e nsuring stability and maintainability of day-to-day business operations enabled by its portfolio of applications under the team's management ;

(ii) applying a business benefit perspective to IM/IT investments, project management and performance measurement;

(iii) p romoting the emergence of a bank-wide framework for managing IM/IT applications and increasing the value generated by IM/IT investments in applications ; and

(iv) d developing the business and technical expertise of IT staff.

The team has the following sub-units: Architecture and Quality Assurance; Collaboration; PeopleSoft; Data and analytics; and Database Management Services.

As a senior system analyst, you capture and translate business requirements into IT technical solutions. This involves business requirement analysis, solution design/implementation/testing and on-going product management.

Less experienced candidates with high-potential will be considered for the role initially as a system analyst.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

In the area of expertise (Microsoft technologies):

- Collect and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design, implement, test, support and maintain information management solutions.
- Contribute to the implementation of a bank-wide information management framework.
- Ensure the managements of products (maintenance and support, supplier management, budget preparation, management of pipeline of enhancements, compliance with internal policies, release management).
- Develop a business understanding of BIS operations.
- Manage small to medium-size projects.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- At least five years of experience as a system analyst or developer using Microsoft Solutions (.NET Framework, SharePoint, SQL Server, Team Foundation Server).
- A further asset is previous experience in designing information management governance systems and arrangements.
- Experience in a client-facing role is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Master's degree or equivalent experience in a related subject.
- Ideally, a Microsoft professional certification on SharePoint 2013 or commitment to obtain one within the period of probation (one year).

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Expert knowledge on C#.NET, WCF, WPF and strong knowledge of ASP.NET, VBA and SQL Server.
- Good functional and technical knowledge of SharePoint and Team Foundation Server.
- Good functional and technical knowledge of databases and object relational mapping technologies.
- Good understanding of the full application development life cycle and project management methodologies and practices.
- Good understanding of design patterns and application architecture principles.
- Good understanding of secure application development techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, pragmatic problem-solver, quick learner.
- Demonstrated ability to work in small or medium-sized teams and foster cooperation across units and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership when achieving assigned objectives.
- Fluency in English, any other additional language is a plus.
