On behalf of one of our major clients, a renowned bank based in Zurich, Randstad IT Professionals is actively looking for a SENIOR SYBASE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITY
- In your role as a Senior Sybase DAB you take responsibility for technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks of SQL Server and Sybase databases.
- Active participation in the resolution of system and performance issues close working relationship with other team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all components of the database environments is part of your responsibilities, as well as DBA support for development teams and involvement in recommendations for new projects.
- You have to provide advice and assistance in terms of developing and progressing the infrastructure environments, including the assessment of needs and recommend solutions in an Enterprise IT.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
In order to be considered for this versatile role, Randstad ITProfessionals is seeking a communicative, self-motivated and ideally local candidate with the following profile:
- Min. 3 years experience of Sybase ASE database and Sybase Replication Server administration
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
- SQL and basic Scripting language (Perl, Shell) knowledge
- Knowledge of Sybase Replication Server/Sybase IQ
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2005/2008
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, high self-motivation, ability to work with minimal guidance and to manage issues and problems through to resolution round off your profile.
Fluent in English, preferably also in German
