Senior Support Engineer - Wiltshire - £45k - £55k - Global Travel

An excellent opportunity has arisen in the Southwest of England for an exceptional senior support engineer to join a global organisation within the telecommunications market.

The client that I am working alongside is a market leader in the development of next generation multimedia technology within the mobile broadband industry. My client is situated in commutable distances from all major towns along the M4 including Swindon,Bristol, bath andGloucester.

As part of the global support team you will have a varied role that will allow you to immerse yourself in learning more about modern LTE infrastructures and device products.

The role will involve working very closely with the head of support, assisting with technical support issues on a global scale. You will act as a counterpart between field support staff and R&D in the delivery of software, technical resolution and support. You will also be required to travel abroad globally, therefore a valid passport is needed.

The role will also involve providing technical support to staff in the field, supporting implementation and operations of LTE networks, therefore knowledge of core networks, such as 3G and LTE is required. You will manage technical calls with customers and also act as a supervisor to the support team whilst the head of support is out of the office.

Skills required:

- At least 10 years experience of technical support in a wireless or core network environment, vendor or operator.
- Knowledge of LTE systems, 3G systems
- Knowledge of IP networking, core networks, IP routing, VLAN's, Security
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems, Solaris 8/9/10 administration
- Man-management experience of technical staff, supervisory skills
- Good communication skills
