Senior Storage Specialist

Our client has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Storage Specialist with solid experience in capacity planning and monitoring of storage environments, including NetApp for both SAN and NAS.

The Role:

- Providing administration and maintenance functions for the storage infrastructure environment, including storage provisioning, installation, configuration and support.
- Maintaining proper release levels of firmware/software products.
- Performing technology refresh and data migration as needed.
- Monitoring and trouble-shooting storage issues across centralised and schools infrastructure.
- Coordinating with vendors on issues with software, hardware, or the interaction between the two.
- Managing aspects of data restoration process for individual departmental sites.
- Responding to and resolving performance issues.
- Maintaining documentation & configuration diagrams.
- Performing other related duties as required.

Your Background

- Good experience managing and supporting NetApp OnTap storage for both SAN and NAS provisioning, including use of Operations Manager console for performance and capacity monitoring.
- In-depth understanding of end-to-end performance and strong ability to interpret performance data to diagnose issues and trends.
- Knowledge/experience of Oracle database design to assist in housing and retrieving performance data effectively.
- Good experience with at least one of the following other storage technologies such as Brocade San Switches, HP EVA, IBM XIV, or EMC VNX.
- Experience researching, testing, planning, documenting and implementing new technical initiatives.
