SENIOR STORAGE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Z SERIES, Z/OS, RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA.

A leading name in Systems Integration require a Senior Storage Operations Specialist will provide operational support and guidance to internal clients. This role is responsible for performing a wide variety of daily storage management tasks as well as providing recommendations for effective and efficient management of storage system. The individual will be part of Larger Systems Support team and will work specifically on Storage/SAN/NAS and Backup Systems.

KEY TASKS

- Storage Monitoring using CA-Vantage on Omegamon storage product. 
- Storage Administration
- Storage Health checks,
- Performance tuning, Storage Provisioning and maintaining availability
- Backup & Recovery
- Problem and Change Management
- Provide proactive recommendations to the customers for improving storage & Backup operations.
- Provision storage based on standardized procedures as outlined in internal documents.
- Participates in the execution of the business continuance and disaster recovery plans.
- Participates in the design and operational execution of the customer's storage disaster   recovery process.
- Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with internal best   practices.

CORE SKILLS

Solid understanding of the z/OS operating system with experience of DFSMShsm, DFSMSdss and DFSMSrmm.

Working knowledge of XRC, PPRC and Flashcopy.

A good understanding of IDCAMS plus creating and managing datasets and System/User catalogs and USS Files is essential.

Systems Monitoring administration skills: RMF is essential and CA-Vantage is a plus. As is operations and support, coupled with skills and experience in IBM Hardware & Software technology, including:  IBM tape and disk solutions.  

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Works closely with z/OS systems programmers, DB2 database administrators, computer operations support and disaster recovery specialists. Will also interface with hardware and software vendors for all storage related issues. Works well independently and with others with minimal supervision. 

Experience

10+ years of relevant experience as a senior storage specialist working in a z/OS environment.
