TRANSLATIONAL BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH

GENOMIC MEDICINE/BIOINFORMATICS

The Weis Center for Research is seeking outstanding independent scientists for full time research positions at ranks equivalent to Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the areas of Genomics and Bioinformatics. The Weis Center is a basic and translational research facility of Geisinger Clinic, and is located on the campus of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.

Genomic Medicine is a strategic focus for translational research at Geisinger. Investigators with expertise in laboratory, computational, or statistical genetic approaches will be recruited to the Weis Center/Geisinger Clinic to expand ongoing research on the genetic basis of disease. Viable candidates will have proven records of innovative research with relevance to human disease. Geisinger Health System's advanced electronic medical record system and health information technology infrastructure for electronic capture of clinical data and large biorepository of patient specimens provide outstanding resources for research on the genetic basis of human disease.

The Weis Center for Research and Geisinger Clinic provide a collegial environment and outstanding opportunities for collaborative research. Technical resources include instrumentation for confocal, TIRF, and single cell fluorescence imaging, microarray analysis, genotyping, DNA sequencing, and flow cytometry, and an AAALAC-accredited animal facility. Substantial resources are available for start-up, ongoing research support and salary.
