A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an SQL Server DBA with some experience of working within an Oracle RAC environment for a top Investment bank within the city. This SQL Server/Oracle DBA will be responsible for maintaining and supporting both SQL Server and Oracle platforms with a slight weighting towards the SQL Server Platform. They will be getting involved in both SQL Server and Oracle migrations to the latest version of Oracle and SQL Server and be expected to work within a global team where they will a key decision maker in new technology implementations involving both the Oracle and SQL Server technology stacks.

On a day to day basis this Oracle/SQL Server DBA will be responsible for:

*Basic Administration for both Oracle and SQL Server

*Back-up/ recovery on Oracle and SQL Server stacks.

*Working within an Oracle RAC environment

*Performance tuning on both Oracle and SQL Server

*Installation of both SQL Server and Oracle databases

*SQL Server Mirroring and replication

This is a superb role for someone wanting to step up into a more responsible role, they will be working within a 24*7 environment and will be expected to contribute towards the strategic direction of the team while remaining heavily hands.

This Investment Bank have been out performing their rival in the last couple of years and performing extremely well in a period where investment banks have been struggling. This team is a growing team, which are looking to implement a number of new initiatives with this person being given a high level of autonomy and visibility within the business to make a difference.
