Senior SQL DBA / Database Administrator

A major finance sector company are looking to add 2 senior level database administrators to their team after "in sourcing" their database support function, which was previously performed remotely.

The two SQL DBA's will be tasked with developing and supporting a very large (multi-TB, multi-instance and cross-site) SQL Server environment. This is a 24/7 site and the SQL DBA will have experience in supporting high-availability systems.

Technical Skills of the Senior SQL DBA:

- SQL Server (2008 and above)
- ETL (SSIS)
- MS BI Stack (SSRS/SSAS) --- (desirable)

Responsibilities or the Senior SQL DBA:

- Generate, configure, and optimise the performance of the databases
- Support the efforts of the test lead and deployment lead to plan, manage, and deploy the application
- Operate and support the database
- Update logical and physical database designs with changes
- Document benchmarks and procedures needed to optimise performance. Ensure that all guidelines are followed
- Provide input on any design decisions for interfacing or integrating databases
- Work with the configuration manager to determine change control and impact analysis for the databases
- Plan disaster recovery and execution activities
