Senior Solutions Engineer

This individual will be supporting the account responsibilities throughout the Eastern US and Canada.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the Territory Account Manager in the role of the "technology lead" to accomplish the sales objectives assigned to that territory.
- Act as the "knowledge expert" with respect to the client solution set to accurately match customer requirements with capabilities.
- Work with Product Line Management and Customer Service to close feature gaps, propose alternative solutions and resolve issues.
- Actively work with customers in their lab to help test and qualify the solution to meet customer requirements.
- Provide feedback from customers to help drive our product roadmap for future development efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years' experience as a Systems Engineer in a computer networking capacity
- Experience using Internet technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, IP and the related networking protocols
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on to configure, diagnose and troubleshoot networking problems
- Experienced with Linux (or similar) operating systems and the configuration of Servers and related hardware
- 50% TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
- Optimal location for this individual is in the Northeastern US

Desired Qualifications:

- Solid personal communication skills (presentations, writing and the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally)
- Prior participation as a member of a Sales Team working in the Service Provider industry highly desired
- The ability to configure and diagnose routing/communications issues on one of the common industry platforms (Cisco, Juniper, ALU etc.)
- Familiarity with VMware or related container implementations
- Strong experience with DNS and related protocols
- Knowledge of caching architectures, the various implementations of caching systems and their respective value propositions
