Senior Software Network Test Engineer or Senior Wireless Engineer

We are seeking an experienced test engineer to perform testing of Wireless LAN (WLAN) switching/access point products which employ advanced security. The position is for either a Senior Software Network Test Engineer or Senior Wireless Engineer.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

- Design, develop and execute network test solutions for wireless infrastructure products.
- Execute performance, interoperability, and scaling tests. Analyze failures and defects, and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify, reproduce, characterize and log bugs. Verify fixes for bugs and plan/execute additional tests needed for fix verification.
- Proactively work with engineers debugging software and hardware solutions during new product development.
- Engineer must have good interpersonal communications and be able to understand a technological problem set and describe the situation under test to fellow software team members.

SKILLS:

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION FOR THE SENIOR SOFTWARE NETWORK TEST ENGINEER:

- 5+ years of L2 & L3 feature and protocol testing.
- Must have experience in Feature and System level testing.
- Education - BS EE/CS required
- Strong knowledge of L2 (Bridging, STP, MSTP, RSTP, 802.1q, 802.3ad), L3 (Routing, RIP, OSPF) and Security (IP Sec, Firewall, IDS, NAC), IPv6
- Strong knowledge with L2/L3 performance and scalability testing
- Excellent network administration skills are necessary. Need to setup test environments with Linux based systems using Radius AAA, DHCP, etc. for local test devices.
- Excellent test methodology skills in software testing. Creative approach to isolating problem areas involving multiple hardware and software variables.
- Engineer must be self-motivated and passionate about software testing and be thorough and detail oriented.
- Candidate must be able to learn new technologies quickly. Set up customer configurations and test at System and Solution level.
- Experience using network monitoring and analysis tools to debug Ethernet/IP layer problems.
- Knowledge of 802.11/WiFi technologies, with specific focus on Access Points and Wireless Switches a plus.
- Automation experience is a plus
- Industry certificates such as CCIE or JNCIP, a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION FOR THE SENIOR WIRELESS ENGINEER:

- 5+ years of strong technical hands-on test experience with WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n
- Must have experience in Functional & Feature of wireless and system level testing
- Education - BS EE/CS required
- Knowledge of L2/L3 (Ethernet, TCP/IP), SNMP, HTTP, Linux/UNIX/Windows operating systems.
- Must have experience of wireless functional/feature testing as well as System Testing.
- Demonstrate experience of using network monitoring and packet capture analysis tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Candidate must be able to learn new technologies quickly. Set up customer configurations and test at System and Solution level.
- Ability to automate is a plus
- Knowledge of 5.8GHz & 4.9GHz bands a plus
