Senior Software Engineer, Central Edinburgh. £Negotiable. DOE

I am currently working with a financial organisation based in Central Edinburgh in the recruitment of a Senior Software Engineer.

Ideally the candidate will have experience in developing software applications for customers within the financial sector, however is you do not possess knowledge of financial topics, training will be provided. This position will allow the candidate to take responsibility for software modules and ensuring that applications run efficiently within clients environments; therefore being passionate about delivery is essential.

The candidate will liaise closely with BA's in the identification and analysing of customer requirements. From there they will be involved in the design, implementation and documentation of new functionality. This position will allow the candidate to be involved in the maintenance and support of applications and to take a consultative approach to their work; providing technical support for clients and deliver expert knowledge in workshops, both externally and internally.

My client is looking for a candidate with a Masters in Software Engineering or a similar IT field, alongside this additional education in economics would be an advantage. Professional experience of the applicant should include:
* Development of complex applications
* Skilled in one or more high level programming languages such as Java or .NET
* Technical knowledge of databases such as Oracle, PL/SQL)
* Commercial experience within the financial industry
