Senior Software Engineer ProC

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - PROC to join our client in the Weldon Spring, MO area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for developing prototypes and performing complex application coding and programming. This position interprets end-user business requirements to develop and/or modify technical design specifications for off-the-shelf and/or custom-developed applications.
- The Software Engineer Senior also analyzes and reviews software requirements to determine feasibility of a design within time and cost restraints. In addition, this position performs unit and integration testing and assists with developing unit test scripts.
- The Software Engineer Senior provides instruction and guidance to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments.
- The Software Engineer Senior will be responsible for working with project managers, business analysts, and software engineers to implement new functionality and make modifications to existing functionality using PROC and PL/SQL.
- Interpret end-user business requirements to develop and/or modify technical design specifications.
- Take a keen interest in understanding the business process and recommend solutions that effectively meet the needs of the business.
- Code and successfully perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution as well as compliance to the business and technical requirements.
- Work with other software engineers to design user interfaces and system interfaces between software applications in order to complete design requirements.
- Use system traces and debugging tools for problem determination and system tuning.
- Participate in the migration of applications to quality assurance and/or the production environment.
- Work with managers and team members to develop development standards.
- Periodically perform necessary production support tasks involving on-call responsibilities that would involve both during and after work hours.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
- At least five (5) years of experience in software programming and development.
- Two (2+) years of Pro*C programming.
- Two (2+) years of PL/SQL programming.
- Two (2+) years of Oracle stored procedure development.
- Proficient Strong Defect/bug fixing skills.
- Proficient Testing/Code Review skills.
- Comfortable using an Windows-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Ability to lead development team.
- Excellent communications skills that allow the candidate to effectively communicate with various IT teams and business units.
- Recent experience in core application development and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Java SE, Java EE, Struts 2, Hibernate, Spring, SQL, JSP Servlet, and XML.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
- Experience with WebLogic application Servers, Oracle databases, Rational ClearCase, Rational ClearQuest, ANT, SOAP UI, Eclipse, JavaScript frameworks, and Java web frameworks is preferred.
- Self-starter and quick learner.
