Senior Software Engineer (Data Analyst):

A Boston hedge fund is seeking an energetic Senior Software Developer. The Software Developer should be an individual who has a passion for getting into the details of the process and be willing to apply new technologies into an existing process. The ideal candidate will be a talented Software Developer who is interested in working within the financial industry. This is a front office position that will require the Software Developer to work with the business units, including portfolio management, trading, operations, and marketing. This role is interested in the developers who are comfortable debugging issues and digging through the code to uncover the root causes. The Software Developer should come from a background of functional and statistical programming (Python/Pandas, Matlab, R, SAS, Perl, and Shell)

Senior Software Developer Responsibilities:

* Managed the design and development of the analytics database.
* Direct involvement with business practitioners to define analytical approaches and reporting methodologies in order to resolve business problems.
* Collaboration with attribution analyst as well as investment analysts to determine core system approaches to meet performance attribution analytic requirements.
* Understand, articulate, document and present requirements, both business and technical, on the assigned projects.
* Design, code, unit test, and implement database code.
* 5+ years of SAS/Perl/Python experience.
