SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER AUSTIN, TX 11 MONTH CONTRACT

The candidate will work with an enterprise systems team, leading integration strategy to implement new requirements and initiatives to transform the current revenue platform. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in data processing in large volume financial systems. This role will lead various design discussions, oversee implementation, and ensure successful delivery of business capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide integration technology leadership with billing and revenue software systems that support financial operations.
- Collaborate with upstream/downstream systems and enterprise architects to design implementation data integration strategies across multiple operating platforms.
- Work with project management to translate business requirements and conceptual approach into an executable plan.
- Work with UNIX Engineering, Network Engineering, Storage Engineering to translate data and application requirements into system requirements.
- Create comprehensive documentation of configuration choices and any necessary software designs for both small and large projects that take into account all areas of development.
- Present solutions to key stakeholders and demonstrate working software to leads and management.
- Follow existing application standards, conventions and best practices as part of the existing SDLC. Engage in lessons learned and continuous process improvement around the SDLC.
- Take the initiative and shape execution approach based on package solution details (ie testing approaches).
- Ensure that applications and code are compliant with security requirements.
- Mentor peer and team developers as needed.
- Work with limited direction, usually within a complex environment, to drive delivery of solutions and meet service levels.
- Collaborate across global business and technology organization, providing sound business analysis, process and change leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have 12-15 years of experience in data integration and billing data mediation, a big plus to have solid experience in Oracle Fusion Middleware, ODI, Oracle SOA Suite (BPEL, ESB, BAM, BPA, B2B, OWSM), Business Rules, EAI, Web Services, Oracle Service Registry, Java, J2EE, JMS, XML
- Experience with High Volume Data Processing a must
- Domain expertise in managing and supporting large-scale enterprise class systems; overseeing software architecture, development and systems integration; and aligning complex business problems to appropriate technology solutions that deliver strong returns on investment
- High degree of technical competency in software development management practices, project and program management, and ability to balance and bridge technology and business needs
- Background in Financial Applications (preferred); other ERP/CRM experience also attractive
- Ability to manage and support in-house/proprietary solutions (vs. doing implementations as a consultant or professional services role)
- Ability to lead through organizational change and ambiguity, including experience in a global Matrix management environment.
- Reputation for being a collaborative thought partner and business leader, skilled at leveraging formal and informal networks with the company
- Strong people management skills with demonstrated ability to grow and mentor a high performing team
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including active listening, persuasion, and negotiation
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; advanced degree
