Senior Software Development Engineer Job

SR. SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in CHASKA, MN

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS OF YOU SHOULD POSSES:

- Skilled in interface design, databases, networking components, and machine control software
- Experienced in writing software documentation for your designs
- Experience troubleshooting software failures

WHAT WILL THE YOU SHOULD BE DOING:

- Develop machine control, UI, and database software using established technologies such as C++
- Analyze and write requirements
- Design solutions for optimizations and new features
- Participate in software code inspections where we collaborate to ensure designs and implementation meet our quality expectations
- Produce high-quality documentation to support the maintenance and regulatory reviews
- Collaborate in the troubleshooting and determination of root cause of failures (no, it's not always a hardware issue)
- Work independently and as a team member (yep, the two ways you could workwe need them both!)
- Participate in technical decisions affecting product modules and/or subsystems, including functional specifications and technical reviews Priority Level 0
- Worked in a product development environment where quality is a major driver of release schedules
- Experience troubleshooting software failures (bonus if you have been able to write unit tests to reproduce the issue)
- Experience writing software documentation for your designs (sure we will accept all those assignments for your software engineering classes)
- Priority Level 255 - Reads Dilbert and does not totally get it all the time but is excited to build an understanding of the deep truths that are exposed by Alice, Dogbert and the others (and the hiring manager does not currently have pointy hair)

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent with zero to two (0-2) years of experience
- Experience writing software using an Object Oriented programming language such as C++, Java or C#
