Senior Software Developer

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior SOFTWARE DEVELOPER WITH MIN. 7 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN IT DEVELOPMENT AND KNOWLEDGE IN IBM DATASTAGE. This role is located in Luxembourg working in a major public institution and in the banking sector.

We are looking for candidates with the following mandatory skills and experience:

- Experience with software development methodologies and release management
- Software development, testing and debugging
- Technical experience with the relevant systems/development tools and languages as follows:
-JAVA, JBOSS, Java EE (EJB, CDI, JPA, JAX-WS, JSF)
-Seam, Spring, Java Design Pattern, Javascript
-TESTING TOOLS (JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, Soap-UI)
- Technical experience with IBM DATASTAGE (mandatory to have!)
- Technical experience with SAP BUSINESS OBJECTS and DATABASES (Sybase, Oracle and MySQL) is a must-have
- Experience in a banking environment.

Daily tasks may include:

- Daily support:
- 1st and 2nd level support
- Single point of contact towards users and if applicable, to other IT teams
- Problem follow-up and resolution
- Bug Fixing:
- Problem analysis including debugging, if applicable, together with the user and other IT teams
- Proposal of solution including estimation
- Problem resolution
- Testing
- Documentation
- Evolutive Maintenance:
- Testing
- Documentation
- Release Management:
- Branch management (ie patching and merging)
- Usage but also configuration of build environment
- Build of releases
- Coordination with other IT teams if needed
- Documentation
- Testing:
- Non-regression testing
- Pre-release testing of newly developed functionality
- Documentation
- Continuous improvements:
- Challenge existing processes with the aim of reaching higher efficiency
- Automation of repetitive tasks
- Documentation of processes
- Training/guidance of more junior or new resources

Languages:

- Fluent in English
- French Language Skills would be considered an asset

This position is offered as a long-term assignment.
