Senior Service Development Engineer NAS

This role will consist of the following disciplines and areas of responsibility:

- DETAIL TECHNICAL DESIGNS AND SOLUTIONS - Lead the development, maintenance and evergreening of designs per each area of technology. Be the global owner of one or more technical topics within OSS Engineering
- VENDOR LIAISON AND INNOVATION - keep abreast with Infrastructure developments in the market place and work with delivery to lead proof of concept projects as necessary and to contribute to well researched recommendations as a business case (Costs, Benefit, Risks, Value to Customers, Value to T-Systems).
- LIAISON WITH DELIVERY ORGANIZATIONS - actively work with the delivery organization to ensure that the services can be operated in an effective manner.
- PROBLEM AND ESCALATION MANAGEMENT - Actively support the delivery organization in the event of critical situations and with structural issues in the infrastructure.
- PUBLICATION OF STANDARDS - Lead and contribute to all OSS Technology Standards and building blocks according to T-Systems document management standards.
- GOVERNANCE OF OSS STANDARDS - Lead in technology design and product Steering Groups to police and control standards effectively.
- PROCUREMENT - support effective negotiation, procurement and selection criteria of technology according to the T-Systems guidelines.
- EXPLOITING TECHNOLOGY - ensure a standardized method of service delivery which is aligned with T-Systems guidelines.
- INVESTMENTS AND PROJECTS - contribute to the preparation of business cases for capital investment and proof of concepts or complex programmes.
- SUPPLIER COST MANAGEMENT - Support monitoring of supplier's products and services and make recommendation to reduce costs as necessary
- COMMUNICATIONS PLAN - contribute to an effective communications plan for all associated stakeholders
- COORDINATION: Lead a global/cross-functional project team in support of technical activities.
- TRAINING: Coach engineering and operations colleagues on key OSS Technologies Standards and building blocks

FUNCTIE-EISEN
Education:

- Bachelors degree or higher in an Information technology discipline

Technical (Required):

- To challenge each of the expert team members and external suppliers accordingly, post holder must have knowledge at a logical level in a broad area of infrastructure technologies, including :-
- Excellent knowledge (3 years+) of NetApp Storage systems, both with operationally and solution development/architecture perspective
- Practical (NetApp related) experience with global operations based on enterprise grade systems management infrastructure,
- Enterprise level backup management skills
- Awareness of Service & Enterprise Architecture
- Recognised as expert in his field by Service Delivery colleagues.

Technical (Desired):

- Practical Experience with ITIL processes
- More than 5 years experience in various areas of IT in developing and bringing up the success to operation team.

Other skills (Required)

- In depth and recent experience in broad area of Information Technology
- In depth and recent experience in working in an architecture/design practice covering Data Centre Services, Open Systems, Storage, Desktop, systems management, across a multi-customer organisation.
- The role requires an individual who is self-motivated and able to work independently and autonomously.

- Good communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across various cultures and across organizations and company boundaries.
- This role requires the ability to lead people in small project structures, identify goals to be pursued, and to influence others towards these same goals.
