Senior Scientist - NGS Assay Development - £40,000 - Oxford

The successful candidate will lead a small team of molecular biologists, and will initially work to develop a next generation sequencing (NGS) based assay for pathogen detection, as part of a funded project.

You will be expected to work closely and proactively with European project partners as well as commercial functions within the business, and will be responsible for delivery against technical milestones.

The ideal person should have a PhD with several years' experience as a PostDoc or Clinical Scientist. You should be able to demonstrate expertise in molecular microbiology and next generation sequencing. Experience in leading projects or working as part of large international consortia would be very advantageous. You should be an enthusiastic team leader, keen to work with commercial and other scientific teams within the organisation.

Key Criteria

PhD level with 2+ years post doctoral experience
Molecular Biology AND Next Generation Sequencing experience
Novel Assay Development + Validation
