Senior Scientist

Our client is a premier manufacturer of automated gel electrophoresis systems for serum proteins, immunofixation, cholesterol and hemoglobin analysis. They are seeking a Senior Scientist for their Research & Development Department to:

- Lead the R&D team of 3-5 individuals dedicated to exceptional product development, timely product testing and accurate technical support.
- Develop point of care and routine coagulation assays and quality control, platelet aggregation assays and immunoassays.
- Work directly with assay development, perform reagent formulation, generate product specifications, characterize the product and develop manufacturing/QC processes to transfer to manufacturing.

_JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:_

- Previous managerial experience.
- Intimate knowledge of blood coagulation and platelet function.
- Knowledge of the chemical formulation with regard to product development.
- Familiar with diagnostic hemostasis laboratory equipment.
- Strong experience in developing processes and test methodologies associated with diagnostic reagents and quality control with an emphasis on hemostasis.
- Broad chemistry/biochemistry knowledge of buffer systems, stabilizers and preservatives.
- Strong medical device background with experience in complex medical device assemblies in a clean room environment.
- Ability to design effective experiments followed by analysis of data.
- Hands-on, willing to work in the lab to execute plan.
