JOB TITLE Senior Risk Consultant REPORTING TO Risk Manager LINE MANAGER TO Junior Risk Consultant(s) BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY No budget authority applicable for this position. PURCHASING AUTHORITY No purchasing authority applicable for this position. SUMMARY OF OVERALL JOB PURPOSE Delivery of Risk Consultancy Services, or other consultancy activities as directed by the management, in order to contribute to the achievement of the overall business objectives of the company. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES General * Delivery of the company's safety engineering consultancy services. * Manage customer enquiries for safety engineering consultancy and generate project proposals if assigned. * Act as Project Manager for Client contracts as required by the Risk Manager. * Apply the company's quality system and HS&E arrangements to all assigned tasks. * Participate in company development initiatives as may be required from time to time. * If acting as client focal point, liaise with the Risk Manager to ensure continued communication during periods of absence from the office. * § Carry out the facilitating of risk assessments on behalf of clients, and lead or be part of teams carrying out consultancy activities. * § Assist where qualified to do so, with internal training of Company personnel. * § Mentor new employees as required by the Risk Manager. * § Assist in the monitoring and continual improvement of the company's quality system. Human Resources * Apply the HR policies and procedures of the company. * Prepare for and participate proactively in Employee Performance and Development Reviews. Quality Assurance * Participate in the internal audit programme and management review. * Obtain customer feedback at the end of projects using the 'First Point Assessment Scheme'. Financial * Keep accurate records of expenses and submit expense statements in a timely manner. * Purchase items and/or consumables as instructed / approved by the Managing Director/General Manager or Director. * Provide invoicing instructions to the finance department on completion of projects. Health Safety and Environment * Ensure familiarization with, and implement, Company QMS policies and procedures. * Fulfil duties as an employee as defined in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. MAIN INTERFACES * Risk Manager - day to day project activities. * Technical Assistant - on all aspects of project billing and expense statements. * Customers - liaise on assigned projects. ADDITIONAL RELEVANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE JOB Periodic offshore assignments and periodic travel / temporary stay in foreign countries will be required.
