Currently, ST. JUDE CHILDREN\'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL has an opening for a SENIOR RESEARCH TECHNOLOGIST .

The Senior Research Technologist in the Pathology Department participates across multiple research activities in the pediatric solid tumor program core. The successful candidate will collaborate with the principal investigator in the Department of Pathology to execute the molecular and cytogenetic experiments in support of these efforts. The primary duties and expectations are outlined below:

- Understand the concept of experiments and principles of the methodology
- Knowledge of various methods of DNA/RNA isolation from human tissue
- Design fluorescence in situ hybridization and PCR-based assays
- Perform and analyze FISH assays and capture images using a fluorescence microscope
- Execute procedures independently and generate data with precision and accuracy
- Document the experiments in details
- Recognize technical problems related to instrumentation, procedures, and methodology and apply appropriate actions to resolve the issues in coordination with the Laboratory management
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in the Lab

The Senior Research Technologist also performs other duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
