SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The SRA-MS lab manager will work as a member of the ADT-MS research team, which participates in the development, evaluation and implementation of state of the art quantitative bioanalytical methods to characterize biopharmaceuticals in the product development pipeline.
- This individual will be involved in transfer of methods to CROs for assay validation and technical oversight for analysis of samples.
- This individual works in a fast-paced environment to obtain pre-clinical and clinical data in support of regulatory filings.
- They will be responsible for initial MS-specific review of general CRO plans, results, and reports and basic troubleshooting and tracking of CRO oversight activities.
- The lab manager is expected to contribute to the management of a cross-functional MS laboratory's upkeep and maintenance.
- Some essential responsibilities include oversight of scheduled maintenance of critical instruments: mass spectrometers, HPLC/UPLC systems, autosamplers and related instrumentation, oversight of ordering reagents and supplies, primarily for mass spectrometry experiments and organizing and record keeping of collected data.
- They may act as the primary contact with vendors in support of laboratory purchasing, equipment maintenance, and operations, particularly those pertaining to mass spectrometry.
- They will attend regular lab meetings and report data to manager and/or lab group.
- This individual is expected to contribute professionally to problem resolution and results assessments.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- B.S./M.S.in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field, with at least five to eight (5-8) years pharmaceutical or biotechnology industrial experience
- Experience in developing and implementing bioanalytical methods using LC-MS
- Proven technical troubleshooting and problem solving abilities in mass spectrometry required

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with quantitative small molecule and protein analysis with both mass spectrometric assays and immunoassays would be advantageous
- Work in a CRO setting and familiarity with GXP compliance is desirable. Hands-on experience with AB Sciex 4000, 5500, 6500, Q-ToFs or Thermo Orbitrap mass spectrometers is also desirable.
