SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in South San Francisco, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- Candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, validating and executing biochemical and cellular assays
- Will serve as a technical expert in biochemical and cellular assays
- Strong emphasis is placed on individuals with experience in immunohistochemistry

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- We have an opening for a talented Research Associate/Senior Research Associate (temporary position) to join the Diagnostic Discovery Department.
- Our group is responsible for diagnostic biomarker development for Client's neurodegenerative disease biology programs and will focus on using sophisticated molecular and data analysis techniques in human tissue samples to identify pathways, targets, and biomarkers in progressive neurodegenerative disorders.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, validating and executing biochemical and cellular assays to support specific projects in our South San Francisco location.
- The individual will serve as a technical expert in biochemical and cellular assays, with particular focus on assay development and data analyses.
- Close collaboration with our assay development group, human tissue labs, and Pathway cell biology experts will be essential to success.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- The successful applicant will have a MS/Ph.D. in biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field.
- A strong emphasis is placed on individuals with experience in immunohistochemistry and prior experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Candidates with research or clinical experience in immunohistochemistry particularly in the area of neurodegeneration, including Alzheimer's or Parkinson's Disease would be an advantage.
- Familiar with bioinformatic tools, neuronal cell biology and techniques including microarray technology, ELISA, qPCR, and primary neuronal cell culture also an advantage.
- Good oral/written communication skills, problem-solving, flexibility, and the ability to integrate detailed analysis into a larger disease-oriented context will be expected.

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prefer four (4+) years of research experience in academic or industry laboratory setting.
- A M.S. or PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field is required
