For the DG CLIMA, of the European Commission, Fujitsu Technology Solutions is urgently looking for an experienced QA analyst:

1.          OBJECTIVES 

The objective of the Quality Assurance - Software Analysis and Testing contract to which this technical annex refers, is to ensure a third party quality assessment, review and follow-up of deliverables supplied by the contractor in charge of the development of the system.

The scope of the contract includes analysis of the requirements, use cases and technical documentation, review of existing test cases, drafting of new test cases, execution of test cases, reporting of results and documentation of processes.

To this end, DG CLIMA requires a specialist with a wide area of expertise that will be able to conduct the tasks described below.

The QA contractor - Software Analysis and Testing will conduct his activity on the Commission's premises, according to the presence time sheets annexed to the Specific Contract. The contractor will work by connecting to the software hosted by DIGIT or in a local QA environment.

2.          DESCRIPTION OF TASKS

- review Test cases delivered by the system developer ensuring their correctness, completeness and relevance..
- draft complementary Test Cases for all new functionality based on the requirements from DG CLIMA and where available, on the Use Cases provided by the contractor in charge of the development of the system and reviewed by DG CLIMA.
- update old Test Cases. For all new test cases developed by the QA contractor, the documentation will be updated, so that all tests performed on all versions of the software, together with their results, are documented. The contractor may be requested to draft additional functional and technical documentation.
- develop the test plan for each iteration based on the design and functional documentation delivered by the contractor of the system development and by DG CLIMA.
- perform and report the Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). He may be requested to perform additional tests, to validate test scenarios (including exhaustiveness) and to verify that all results are logged. In addition he will report on actual test results compared to the expected results and advise on the deployment of releases and the related risks.
- contractor will review the accuracy of the Factory Acceptance Test Reports delivered by the contractor of the System development on all iterations.
- perform smoke tests on all iterations in all environments.
- monitor defects reported by users of the system, assess their severity and take pre-emptive actions that similar tests are conducted on subsequent versions of the applications to prevent systemic recurrence.
- execute ad-hoc testing on software patches for hot fixes that need to bypass the full testing cycle procedure.
- requested to liaise with the Service Desk in order to work together on reproducing and isolating bugs that were reported in the Production environment.
- work on pre-existing test data or to generate its own data through the database of test environments using SQL scripts.
- verify the data integrity on both Front End and Back End following test scenarios through exploratory testing and SQL queries.
- liaise with DIGIT to ensure the correct functioning of the testing environments.
- draft test scenarios for the performance and security tests that are performed by DIGIT.
- execute different types of functional security and confidentiality breaching tests such as access control, permissions Matrix and visibility of private information verifications.
- deliver comprehensive test reports on all the versions it tests. The reports are to be completed with a reasoned opinion on the general quality of the version, whether it is accepted for the respective milestone of the project and whether it can go to production environment.
- assess a range of other deliverables: use case specifications, software development plan, risk management plan, risk register, software architecture, data model, source code, release and deployment documentation, user documentation, etc.
- use a bug tracking database that is common to him/her, DG CLIMA, the Service Desk and the contractor of the system development. In this database the contractor will report all the defects (s)he finds in the software and confirms the eventual reparation of these defects by the contractor of the system development in subsequent versions of the software. Currently the bug tracking system is JIRA.
- assist with the deployment of new releases delivered by the contractor of the system development in all environments. He will work in collaboration with DIGIT to ensure the correct deployment of the application.
