Senior Quality Analyst (Tester)

Our client is seeking a Senior IT. Quality Analyst (Tester) to assist in the development of a Quality Management System that establishes quality standards. Role and Responsibilities

This role defines a testing strategy and executes testing on modified applications to validate that functionality conforms to established requirements. The IS Quality Analyst plays an essential role in establishing knowledge management guidelines throughout the life cycle of an enhancement or change.

This role will be dedicated to Quality Assurance activities for planned releases of enhancements to existing software and systems.

Responsibilities will include:

- Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
- Plan and document testing strategies, approaches and plans for all relevant testing phases, highlighting business risk and making recommendations as and when appropriate
- Review requirements/design documents to successfully develop user test plans, test cases and traceability Matrix
- Collaborate with relevant operational and build teams to construct testing and implementation strategies
- Develop, revise, execute and validate quality standards and test procedures on modified applications or infrastructure to evaluate design and functionality
- Collect and track defects to closure, prepare documentation to capture test procedure evaluations, testing and any corrective measures taken
- Identify and evaluate risks and participate in mitigation and control activities
- Maintain appropriate archival of QA documentation (eg test cases, test results, test data, etc.).
- Assist creating and maintaining a library of comprehensive regression scripts
- Contribute to enterprise knowledge management by creating a library of repeatable testing artefacts
- Inform Project Managers or Team Leads on the status of pertinent tasks
- Continually monitor processes used to create project deliverables and identify any Quality Assurance process improvement activities.

Qualifications

Required Skills

- Proficiency in establishing/documenting/executing test strategies/plans/cases from business and functional requirements
- Familiarity with, and demonstrated understanding of enterprise's business and technical architecture
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and facilitate successful User Acceptance Testing
- Minimum 3 years experience in a functional testing role
- Familiarity with different phases of SDLC and Testing Methodologies
- System-level understanding, in particular, the interaction and relationships between multiple subsystems
- Microsoft Visio
- Microsoft Office
- HP Quality Center.

Desired Skills

- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA)
- Quality Improvement Associate Certification (CQIA)
- Certified Test Manager (CTM)
- Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP)
- Direct experience contributing to the success of a range of small-to-medium projects with increasing levels of complexity and business criticality
- PL/SQL programming skills.
