Senior Python Developer

A challenging opportunity is available for a senior software engineer to assist in the development of geospatial software.

The role will see you working within a highly professional team and collaborating closely with scientists to deliver software systems and their accompanying documentation.

This role as it will see you receiving input from a variety of sources and so a flexible and client-focussed attitude will be essential.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Experienced in design, development, and unit-testing of software applications on Linux platforms.
- Experienced with Python and geospatial applications.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering software systems as well as accompanying technical documentation.
- Experienced with configuration, release, dependency management of source code using Subversion/Git.

DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Spatial Application Development.
- Satellite imagery and spatial data.
- High Performance Computing.
- Parallel Programming. Open source software such as GDAL/OGR and MPI
- Familiarity with the Python API for ArcGIS

Australian citizenship is required to be considered for this role, however our client does not require a security clearance.

While our client has a strong list requirements for the role, of utmost importance to them are Python and geospatial experience, and the right personality and attitude to work successfully within the established team.
