Senior Public Health Analyst

3 Month Contract

Paying between £200-£300 daily

To support the council's Head of Population Health Intelligence in providing the leadership and strategic direction for the population health intelligence function.

Working closely with colleagues within Public Health, across the Council as a whole and within partner organisations, to develop and maintain a comprehensive and effective public health intelligence function. To support the Head of Population Health Intelligence to develop and lead the implementation of a council wide population health intelligence strategy to support a wide spectrum of public health work, including health needs assessment, health impact assessment, equity audits and service evaluations in support of the strategic improvement of population health and tackling the underlying social, economic and environmental determinants of health.

Duties:

*Provide strategic direction for the population health intelligence function, in response to local and national strategic goals and objectives.
*To identify opportunities for population health intelligence to be used more effectively and efficiently and to support new ways of working.
*Support the Head of Population Health Intelligence in developing the role of population health intelligence across the council and the health & social care economy.
*Work in collaboration with colleagues to agree and deliver joint work plans to meet the corporate objectives of the LB Havering.
*Encourage and support the effective use of population health information and knowledge sources to support the strategic development and implementation of local and national health & social care policy priorities.
*Represent the council Public Health team in a variety of local implementation forums.
*Produce and contribute to reports and regular updates on local and national targets and key indicators relevant to the work of the Public Health Directorate, including information held on the Havering data hub and underpinning the Havering JSNA.
*Ensure accurate, timely and relevant population health intelligence reaches key decision makers in time to support evidence based decision-making and resource allocation.
*Any other duties deemed to be appropriate to the grade of the post by the line manager.
