SENIOR PROJECT PLANNER - CONTRACT - GLOUCESTER

The Senior Project Planner is responsible for the provision of all planning and programme controls services to the overall development programme.

The Senior Project Planner will be responsible for providing planning, scheduling and progress monitoring services to a number of projects of strategic significance within one of the main programmes.

Senior project planners will also take responsibility for ensuring the effective integration of the projects with the programme, working with the project planners to identify and manage the interdependencies between projects within the programme and coordinating with programme stakeholders to ensure the overall programme schedule delivers the required objectives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Providing planning and scheduling oversight and coordination for a programme
- Development of detailed project delivery plans that identify all the activities required to deliver the scope of the project.
- Preparation of Primavera P6 project schedules including work breakdown structure, activities, logic and activity coding to an appropriate level of detail for effective project and programme management.
- Monitor and report on progress against the plan and make changes as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

- Extensive, relevant experience of project planning and schedule development on large scale project and work programmes.
- Current experience of Primavera P6 project management scheduling software is essential.
- Knowledge of power generation, engineering or civils/construction.
- Ability to develop and manage project schedules through the full project life cycle is essential
- Ability to analyse programmes to critically comment on logic, sequence and task duration is essential.
