Senior Project Manager (Vendor Management) - Pharma

Our client, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies based in Basel, is looking for a SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER who has proven experience with VENDOR MANAGEMENT, RFI/RFP PROCESSES AND VENDOR SELECTION AS WELL AS CONTRACTING.

This is a contracting role based in Basel and planned to start in July until the end of the year with extension opportunities.

PROJECT BACKGROUND:

Our client is looking for an experienced professional to be responsible for portfolio management and program office activities as well as driving special task force activities within the Pharma Development Clinical Operations IT team.

TASKS:

- Prioritize activities and tracking tasks throughout all phases of the delivery life cycle
- Assist on the definition/creation of key deliverables such as service models, frameworks, communication materials, etc.
- Be responsible for running an RFI/RFP for an outsourcing project which includes creation of the RFI/RFP and running the process including driving decision-making together with the Delivery Service Manager and Solution Owner
- Support tracking budgets and creating financial forecasts and oversight for the overall portfolio
- Provide timely status reports to all stakeholders and escalate issues to the appropriate management level
- Effectively manage projects across global locations and time zones and used to work with virtual global teams.

IDEAL PROFILE:

- 8+ YEARS EXPERIENCE in managing a diversity of IT PROJECTS/PORTFOLIOS
- Experience in VENDOR MANAGEMENT, RFI/RFP PROCESSES and VENDOR SELECTION as well as contracting
- PHARMACEUTICAL EXPERIENCE
- Experience in managing OFFSHORE CONTRACT RESOURCES
- Experience with financial management aspects of the portfolio (budgeting, forecasting, tracking, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives with globally distributed teams dealing with stakeholders also at senior management levels.
- Proven ability to obtain results in a global, Matrix environment
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, as well as presentation abilities
- Ability to see the interrelationship of a project/initiative across "the big picture" and understand its dependency on other projects/initiatives and how it fits together.
- Demonstrated success communicating across a variety of audiences, including business people and technologists (both up and down the organization)
- Exceptional listening, problem solving, negotiation, and facilitation skills
- Proven leadership abilities and emotional intelligence; self-starter
- RELEVANT BACHELOR'S DEGREE in CS, MIS, Life Sciences, Business or equivalent experience
