Senior Project Manager (SAP Reimplementation)

This is a minimum 12 month contract opportunity with potential to extend. Overview
Our Client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to head up a SAP reimplementation project.Role and Responsibilities
- Identify necessary management structures for projects & secure the management involvement required
- Oversee & control any external resources contracted to the project
- Continually identify, prioritize & mitigate project risks
- Drive proper project chartering & setup
- Maintain strategic alignment of projects by analysing charters & reviewing with management decision makers, typically out of a PMO
- Forecast internal resource capacity by tracking the progress of projects across the portfolio, typically out of a PMO
- Perform team management, driving motivation, collaboration & performance
- Manage project administrators or junior PMs as needed, typically out of a PMO in a larger organization
- Provide an environment conducive to the mentoring, coaching & training of apprentice PMs
- Estimate project costs & manage the budget (includes related scope control)
- Define & drive &right-sized& project management processes (especially supporting quality assurance).
Qualifications
Required Skills
- 7 to 10 years in Project Management roles
- Collaborative approach to project management
- Exceptional understanding of project management and value management methods, tools and techniques
- Sound knowledge of Project Management best practices
- Expert abilities in risk and issue management (including identification, mitigation and resolution)
- Superior planning, organization and people management skills
- College diploma or university degree in Business or Information Systems
- Microsoft Project
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to provide service, develop consensus and successfully manage relationship
- Positive, "can-do" attitude
- Customer focused approach.
Desired Skills:
- An understanding of SAP is preferred but any ERP experience is acceptable
- Infrastructure and data systems experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
- ITIL Foundations.
