Senior Project Manager (Property Management team)

Eingestellt von Met Office

Gesuchte Skills: Design

Projektbeschreibung

The role

We're already world-renowned for our weather and climate science, supported by the supercomputer and market-leading infrastructure. Right now, we're working hard to deliver a programme that will upgrade and improve our high performance computer (HPC), to be one of the fastest in the UK. This is a huge programme for us, one which will have a business-pivotal impact on the way that we work, the structure of our properties and the capabilities we have as an organisation.

Joining us as a Senior Project Manager within the talented and multidisciplinary Property Management team, you'll be the driving force behind the delivery of a third IT Hall which will house some of our newly updated HPC infrastructure. Working collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders, you'll have the experience, expertise and gravitas to ensure that the IT Hall is implemented successfully and safely by the March 2016 deadline. This is a dynamic role that will provide stimulating professional challenges for an experienced project manager. Combining softer skills with a strong track record in project management, you'll understand the complexities of this project and be able to build an excellent relationship with the team and stakeholders. You'll be at the heart of every step of the lifecycle as you plan, lead and control a project that will deliver significant business change in the very near future.

The person
An experienced, certified project manager, you'll need to meet the following essential criteria to be considered for this role:

1. Experience of managing high risk commercial property projects at a Senior Project Manager level. Specifically, critical infrastructure projects.

2. Proven ability to actively manage multi-disciplined contractors, within the context of the CDM (Co-ordination Design Management) Regulations and commercial contracts.

3. Evidence of having successfully managed and motivated a project team in an inspiring manner, resulting in efficient project implementation, good teamwork and effective conflict resolution.

4. Proven ability to develop networks and build working relationships at all levels, internally and with external organisations, enabling goals to be achieved effectively.

5. Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to obtain an understanding of technically complex matters and communicate them to the audience in a clear and appropriate manner.

6. A proven track record of delivering projects on time, on budget and to customers' requirements, ideally with experience of managing several high-risk projects from start to finish.

7. Demonstrate the ability to successfully handle multiple demands and shifting priorities, including those relating to project risks and issues.

8. Must be a current Prince 2 Practitioner and/or holder of APM (Association for Project Management) Certificate. Ideally would also be an APM Registered Project Professional.

If you also meet the following desirable criteria, that'd be even better:

1. Demonstrate a positive, confident attitude and good leadership skills.

2. Experience dealing with construction health and safety issues within a project.
