SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - PLANNING AND SCHEDULING MANAGER - NØDNETT PROJECT

For our client Motorola Solutions Nødnett Project are we looking for a Planning and Scheduling Manager to work in Oslo, Norway.

Nødnett is a digital network for police, health services and fire and rescue services. In addition, Nødnett can be used by organisations participating in rescue and emergency work. The network is in full operation in parts of Norway and a countrywide build out will be completed by end of 2015.

Nødnett is built to be resilient in order to meet the needs of the emergency services.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Be the Nødnett Planning and Scheduling Manager to manage and support the program planning and scheduling activities of the nationwide rollout of the Norwegian public safety network. This position would suit an experienced Project manager with experience from large organisations, large network build projects or large-scale infrastructure rollout programs.

The role will require strong process, integration and communication skills. The position has the responsibilities for the following. Handling of change requests, develop and maintain WBS, progress tracking and reporting, milestone analysis and critical path analysis

The individual should also be knowledgeable and confident enough to question the information obtained and suggest alternatives and advise the implications of potential courses of action. The role is to be based in Oslo, Norway but may require occasional travel within Europe to visit other MSI or subcontractor facilities, so a degree of flexibility is required.

PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support the work stream project managers to create detailed internal plans & schedules according to PMO planning and scheduling standards.
- Co-ordinate plans and helps to identify and maintain work stream interdependencies.
- Ensure that the various schedules are regularly maintained with current progress and logic.
- Work within the PMO scheduling team to provide periodic progress reports.
- Liaise with internal and external suppliers to help co-ordinate the system production and rollout.
- To assist the PM's with their check and balance of planning and progress.
- In country customer point of contact with respect to Core planning issues
- Help to set up govern and monitor the site rollout and asset management tool.
- Perform variance analysis
- Establish and provide metrics measurements
- Report and schedule risks/opportunities and suggest, in cooperation with the project manager, mitigation/exploitation plans.
- Provide input for the update of processes and procedures

KEY ATTRIBUTES

- Clear evidence of Project or Planning management experience with the ability to change plans from first principles
- Flexible and be able to work on your own initiative and be self-motivating.
- A good working knowledge of MS Project is essential.
- Be able to question and monitor internal work stream processes and progress.
- To be able to communicate to all management levels.
- Customer facing experience.
- Project reporting experience.
- Fluent English speaking and writing is mandatory plus the ability to read and write Norwegian or similar Scandinavian language is also an advantage but not essential.
- A good knowledge of Network Integration processes within telecoms or similar process orientated projects, ie Oil and Gas, Engineering, Petro-chemical, Construction, Military etc.
- PM certification will be an advantage

Candidate must meet security clearance requirements
