Senior Project Manager - Agile

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - AGILE to join our client in Plano, TX.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- This individual will work on all tasks associated with the execution of process and technology necessary for driving the World Class Development (WCD) initiative.
- The purpose of this work is to drive focus of all development on the end user, quality, timeliness and visibility into all product development across the organization. The implementation of this system is a "HIGHLY CRITICAL" first step to becoming a World Class Development organization
- Coordinate with WCD team to document all discussions, plans, tasks, and workflows that emanate from the WCD meetings.
- Review, analyze and document all major features present in the Rally and Gemini platforms; create comparisons and highlight differences; and arrange product demonstrations as necessary.
- Align needs with Gemini/Rally product offerings and get full cost estimates from both companies. Create 5-year total cost of ownership analysis.
- Work with WCD to create presentation materials for comparison of tools.
- Socialize details with additional development, BPA, QA, and PM resources to solicit feedback.
- Present final information to the TRB and make a decision on the proper tool to use.
- Implement and configure chosen tool to match a specific development methodology while maintaining the vision of the PMLC/SDLC process.
- Ensure any additional integrations are installed and running for Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint, and ActiveDirectory are running.
- Work closely with the pilot development team to get the system up and running for the ongoing development work.
- Collect feedback and make corrections to configuration as needed.
- Create presentation for follow-up review with key stakeholders on current progress and learnings.
- Establish pacing and sequencing of rollout to additional development teams over time.
- Review capabilities in the system for source code review, ticketing (ITSM) and quality control. Compare testing capabilities/needs with current HP Quality Center platform to see if further application consolidation can reduce overall costs and increase efficiency through a single tool.
- Manage scope and schedule for all work on deployment of the development tool.
- Detect and manage project risks and issues to inform stakeholders and project leadership of possible project constraints; collaborate with project leadership to institute mitigation activities as necessary.
- Review and provide feedback on project deliverables (product requirements, functional specifications, etc.).
- Compile and communicate weekly project progress and status reports.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Five (5+) years of software development experience using both waterfall/agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Agile XP and Agile SCRUM.
- Strong understanding of Project Life Cycle management controls.
- Experience working with software development teams.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.
- Attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills and persuasiveness.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to lead and facilitate meetings.
- Ability to organize and track a large number of open issues.
- Ability to collaborate with external teams as well as internal project staff to achieve key goals.
